Looking Back: Celebrating Our Gala History

2.5 Daddy - Stay Alive in 2025
The Empowerment Network hosted its 17th Annual Prostate Cancer Awareness Jazz Luncheon at Orlando Gardens. Held during National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, the elegant afternoon featured emcee Rene Knott and keynote speaker Mitch Baden sharing powerful personal journeys of survival and hope, set to the music of saxophonist Gerry Huggins.
Under the theme “2.5 Daddy - Stay Alive in 2025,” the luncheon highlighted health disparities in the African American community and the vital importance of early detection, urging a target PSA score under 2.5. Beyond awareness, the event demonstrated true community spirit by donating a portion of the proceeds to local relief efforts following the devastating St. Louis tornadoes of May 2025.
